If it all went like you said, it would've been a very sad ending, however, we never saw HOW it ended because of the famous cliffhanger of which I'm sure you know all about. I have to say, though... I don't quite get what you're saying. We've all be there? Don't want to go back again? What exactly do you mean by that?
Don't get me wrong - I've been part of this community for a year now, and I saw that this post is over three years old. What I'm trying to say, I may've missed out on the bit you're referring to.
Actually, I don't put wierd couples togeteher unless it's for someone else, but I've only done one of them; it wasn't Reboot either. I like the couples that writers make, and usually try to continue their relationship, so as you say "all been there" isn't true for everyone.
