ya it was....but im living in the now...its 2009. I watch things in 16:9/16:10, 720p/1080p. And i would love to fill my tv with reboot clarity. Not blocky/grainy bootleg encodes/rips.
this is my current demo reel:(im currently doing a new one)

here is an early version of a binome i did:

UPDATE ON RE-RENDERED:
Binomes almost rigged. Working with HD instance so i can replicate the crowd scene. So far things are looking good. havent had much time due to another project. Once i get all props done and textured ill show those off. Then ill start modeling main characters later rigging them all. Then the fun begins!
I'm more concerned about you. Redoing even just one episode is going to take up SO MUCH of your freetime, including replicating the background models, animating, and adding new special effects and all that. Probably 2 years just for 20 minute one episode
I suggest you stick to just one scene and make each second of that be nostalgia reincarnated into awesomeness! Or maybe do a scene from the WebComic erhaps?
But seeing your demo, looks like you know a lot of tricks, and I do look forward to seeing any Reboot work you do...but yeah, it seems redoing a whole season is a little way too much for you. I don't think it's worth doing all that work, even if it's for us fans, y'know?
But yeah, a scene would be great!!
I just don't want you to work so hard for something that was created by a whole company, y'know? Sounds like it'd be an overbearing task.
i like the 90's charm but em interested in what you plan to do i have alittle bit of knowledge in the area artisticaly speaking anyway if i like the sample id be happy to help in anyway i can
It would be neat to see every thing done with all new animation, I'd kinda miss the old chunky animation. That's why I hope that the new movies aren't going to be to much more updated. But I think it should be cool to see it all shiny and new.
new and shiny is always good... trust me...im committed to keeping it relatively the same...just updating for newer tvs and web. Trying to keep animation in line with the old...but obviously improving it to a satisfactory level
That would be cool! I like the idea of ReBoot going through a renaissance of it's own and being remade into something expected of our own day and age. I support this whole heartedly.
I don't think I would actually re-watch it if you did do it, but if/when you give out copies I would hold onto them and watch them in time. Showing something like these to people who are stingy about the 90's feel of the 3D (stingy bastards that they are, don't see the awesomeness that it holds) might have an easier time watching the series, much like Black Mesa dose for new Half-Life fans. I await with baited breath, good luck.
Well when i do....it will be free (unless rainmaker contacts me before hand)
I plan on giving fans what mainframe and rainmaker have promised but never delivered.
i wont stray much from the original for obvious reasons.
But i will update certain things.
I will include the fans and make changes so that everyone is happy.
Also i dont know how many stereoscopic fans are out there.. but it would be cool to do a episode or short with reboot characters.

I'm not sure if putting it in HD would be a good idea, because wasn't the way it was animated back in the 90's part of it's charm?

Has anyone ever wondered how Reboot would be like if it became almost life-like like Final Fantasy 7: Advent Childeren?

He might get some more help if he gets that one scene done, and from then on, it could help our momentum along.
