What made it special for me is that it grew. It was the first cartoon series I had watched where the characters got older and evolved as the series progressed.

Had me transfixed and totally dispensed with convention.

    Truely unique.

there are two things that made it special for me, I was around 9 or 10 maybe younger when it first aired i remember enzo's birthday party i begged my parents for a guitar for a month after that i never did get it but i have one now and every time i play i picture my self as megabyte rocking out on stage

the second is the whole third season i was going through some trouble and seeing what matrix and andrea went through really did help

ReBoot's characters were so unique and fun. I fell in love with each of them from the moment I began to watch it. Season 1 and 2 were so fun and simple with growing action. I thought the stories and the games were so fun to see. I liked season 3's action and the way it ended happily and everything was alphanumeric. Daemon Rising was so cool and fun to see the action and plots explained a lot of the questions in the past and had a great tribute to characters like Bob and Hex. My Two Bobs was a great story though I felt it was a bit of a disappointment due to the characters actions to Bob, but the action and cliffhanger were amazing.

All together ReBoot has always been an amazing entertaining series and has always been amazing.

Firstly, it's the only tv series from my childhood i can still go back and watch and enjoy...i love all the little sci fi in jokes.

Second...Enzo growing up into a tough badass is inspiring for a kid having a rough time in school. I'm pretty sure that had a copy and paste effect on my brain.

Lastly...whilst i know that Megabyte will lose in the canon story...i still want closure god damnit.

I think what made Reboot so special to me was the fact that it was something different. REALLY different. It wasn't about animals or "people". I really started to get into computers when the show aired (around 10-11) and it let me know it was ok to be a geek, to like computers and made me hope that there really was a mainframe out there.

    Viva La Mainframe!

i remember seeing the ads before ReBoot first episode i was just getting into modeling in 3D with turbo silver, Reboot is an awesome story about what is happening inside your computer with rich characters and running story line that always kept you wondering what will happen next and very funny references to other cool shows and movies. im so glad Rainmaker is doing a remake!

I'm not sure how far the series was along when I first started watching ReBoot, but it was on Cartoon Network at the time so... season 2? Anyways...

There was just so many things to love about ReBoot. it was creative and funny. I always loved how the writers manage to work real technical terms into everything, it made it seem more believable. And you really got attached to the characters. I had many a bad dream after Bob was launched into the net... hey I was like 6, cut me some slack.

Enzo was my favorite though, a lonely kid who became the guardian he dreamt of being. I was always rooting for him, right from the start.

Enzo - aside from Bob and Megabyte and... hell, every one of the characters! - was definitely my top favourite.

I liked how he grew from a dorky, lonely, energetic kid, to a guardian and then finally who he became as Matrix. As you were, I was rooting for him as well. ^^

What made reboot specail to me when I first watched it as a kid was purely the visual appeal of it all. I mean its abouta blue guy with silver hair fighting in this sparking world of pure energy with a wristwatch that does anything he tells it to for goodness sake.

As I rewatch the show however I see something truely unique about the show is how it can be a soap opera in one episode, star trek in the next, and a western in the one after that while at the same time being one connected story.

By the way, I agree with Nightbird that the happy ending is Season 3 is awesome. I still get a wave of nostalgia watching the characters celebrate Mainframe's restart in End Prog

My main drive to ReBoot when I was little were the characters. They've just got so much back story and so much emotion. Which is something you don't see in cartoons, even these days.

My fiance and I recently watched the whole series again, and we did it in a matter of a few days. We were that addicted. Even now, being as old as it is, it's still so eye catching and exciting.

Definitely agree with you there. I wish I could re-watch the whole series again, but unfortunately I can't seem to find any DVDs or VHS or... anything of the episodes. But I suppose I could always try Youtube?

But, aside from that, glad to hear you and your fiance enjoyed re-watching it. That just goes to show that, no matter how old you are, it is NEVER a bad thing to enjoy cartoons.

Aside from being the 1st computer animated TV show airing at the time I just fell in love with it (especially Bob). You could actually loathe the bad guys and like them at the same time. Megabyte and Hexadecimal are in a class all their own.

I also like the fact that most episodes would link to others later on. A constant evolving story and in most animated show that didn't really happen.
