I never noticed that either I think megabyte and hex kept him a little to busy.

I think it's just another one of those things that the writers did to make something sound interesting, to catch the viewer's attention, but with no actual idea of how to follow up on it.

Such things eventually found resolution in the series, like Dot's father, Megabyte's "Father" and the Twin city. I guess they just never got around to exploring that statement by Bob, or just forgot about it. :)

I thought about that too. It does seem misleading, but it is interesting too. Like Azurianlight said, i think all those viruses have kept Bob at bay.

The opening wasn't written by the co-creators. Some Los Angeles written put it together and the network liked it... so we have the "Bob said he'd do it, but he never did" dilemma these days.

I thought that this message meant that he intends to go into the games to see what the user considers pleasure. So maybe that's what he meant when he says "I intend to find out." I don't think it was meant as I plan to search for the user.

well, there was a convention a couple months ago where all the main ReBoot creators and actors got together in one room and someone asked a similar question. The response went something along the lines of "We didn't actually write the songs ourselves, and the producers liked the way it sounded." That was the gist of it anyways ahaha

Technically it was answered. In season 3, episode 16, There was a system crash, what followed it esentially proved that the user did exist. Watch ten minutes into the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7SVWhQqdOA&feature=related

That was a very cool scene in the episode, I really liked how it was displayed/edited. I hope the user has more of that sort of role in the movie(s), instead of just this ambiguous god-like figure that no one really understands.

It would be interesting for Bob to follow up on that comment... But what's he going to do? Find a video stream from a webcam?

This could make a good plot after Megabyte is defeated yet again. Wondering why The User would even make viruses like Megabyte, Bob (and others) go on a quest to find out more about the nature of The User. When he does, he learns that there are actually many users, some who are evil, yadda yadda yadda, bad guy is an evil user (a troll), who perhaps defeats and incapacitates the relatively good user of Mainfraime.
