After the movie itself ends, how about a fast forward about ten minutes, to a scene where it shows Bob and Dot and maybe a kid or two talking with them asking about the past? I think it would be a better idea to explain, rather then continuing the hunt, especially since the voice may and may not make sense after the hunt started.
Not a bad idea, Sylar! The computer World has changed, a lot, in the last ten years. Then, the computer concepts used in the show must upgrade, too.
Then again, it's been ten years. Probably twelve or even fifteen by the time the movie gets out. Maybe a whole new story would be a better idea, as to not lose the new fans.
Keeping the flow of the old story with the new is a must.
The comic leaves many things unanswered.
---Do they find DR. W. Matrix (scuzzy) and return the nulls back to normal?
---Are the guardians still around? and what of these new heroes Turbo was training?
---If everyone was freed from Gnosis, wouldn't that mean all the Viruses are back and running rampant?
Not to mention how about some input on how the relationships are going.
--Bob and Dot
--Matrix and Andre'ia
--Mouse and Ray
I mean they can't be going all that smoothly, there's got to be some trouble or unexpected events.
Actually I think Scuzzy would have been deleted in Mainframe's crash, because it didn't have a icon, but I would like to see Bob and Dot's daughter (this is in the future) marry Ray and Mouse's son. "What goes around comes around." Also, maybe Bob and Dot have two one being about Little Enzo's age when he first appears after the crash, and the other being teenaged. Dixon and Wellman would be good names for them.
I would love to see what happens during the hunt. I would also like to see them make a cure for nulls so we can see what the sprites were lke and get more of a back story to Dot, enzo. I would also like to see more about Bobs past.
My concern is what will become of Bob's plan to reprogram Megabyte. In my opinion letting Bob reprogram him would be a mistake. In the case of Hexadecimal it did not ruin the story for her to become a sprite. Her affection for Bob, and constantly changing mind makes it actually plausible that she could make a good sprite for at least a little while. In the case of Megabyte however for him to become a sprite would completely ruin his character. His entire character is completely against that. For him to become even somewhat "nice" for even a short amount of time would ruin all the character building done in the first four seasons.
On the other hand it will be hard to then make Bob's whole dream of reprogramming virus's seem like it is going anywhere when his main goal, reprogramming Megabyte, comes to nothing. A difficult subject.
Personally I want the show to continue on television. I actually would prefer it to this movie idea. Translating TV series to movies is always tricky... cause people expect a certain level of pizazz. I'd rather have them finish what they left "unfinished" as well.
I know there's been a comic and blah blah blah... but come on most fans don't feel that the comic does the story justice. Not to mention that there is a certain visual aspect that makes the series appealing. I know that ReBoot's 3D animation is a bit lo-fi for 3D standards of today, but it actually fit the ReBoot world so nicely. I mean I loved the visuals at the end of Season 4. They should continue there with the next gradual progression in visuals and story.

Maybe Jeremy Irons could do the voice of Megabyte.

I'd like to know where Mouse originated from, and what happened to Dot's and Enzo's mother.

I want to see Megabyte turned into a sprite. But instead of being a decent member of society he is a malignant program.
This does happened in real life. There are malignant programs that aren't viruses.
