So i was re-watching some ReBoot, and this question has been bugging me :

What did Hex do to Matrix's icon in "Sacrifice" ? ( She took his icon, made it glow, and said "VIRUS HATER! Learn from this..." at him. )

I think she might've did something to make her return? ( But then how would that happen... Matrix already went into games after that event... So ReBooting it wouldn't do anything. )

What do you think she did? It'd be interesting to know other peoples' thoughts about this! :D

What kind of game or reference would you like our main characters of ReBoot to explore? Bonus points if you can list why.
Personally, I'd love a few 4chan references, and a megaman, Ape escape or Crash Bandicoot crossover would be awesome. Or even Speed Racer. That stuff is great parody material.

I JUST REALIZED DAEMON'S HEAD LOOKS LIKE A CLOCK LOL

I just had a dream within a dream about reboot. I was there interracting w/ all of the characters and it was a new adventure and everyone was older (and matrix was older and wiser).  There was also a crossover with south park for some reason, like all the characters switched personalities w/ the south park characters and everyone was in mainframe and something was going on in order to help each other get back to normal. Anyways...that was just the beginning, there was an even bigger threat that threatened to destroy mainframe and there was this giant room and everyone was gathering in.  There were characters riding in on what looked like dragons/birds with jets on the back. after that was kind of a blur but there was one way to get rid of the threat and only one person could pilot this ship to get rid of the threat, but at a cost.  The ship asked for little enzo, but matrix knew he was the one who should pilot it.  After he said bye to AndrAIa, I told him he had been my hero sin...

I recently came across a website called tvaddicts.tv.  They are advertising a DVD collection of seasons 1-4 complete.  Now, from what I've read recently there hasn't been an actual "Complete Collection" release because Mainframe is, for all intents and purposes, being lame about the rights to ReBoot. Also, when i go to electronics stores (Best buy and the like) all i can find is the normal stuff like the separated seasons and volumes and stuff.  If you type in the website in your URL add /movie/cartoon/Reboot.html  If there's anyone that can validate whether this is real or a knock-off, I'd really appreciate it.

Hey guys. Im 16 and live in the UK.I've been a fan of ReBoot ever since i can remember. My parents recorded some of the episodes on VHS for me when i was 1 and they also got me 2 figures. I've had them since forever. Basically, Im sad that ReBoot isnt shown in the UK at all and that UK fans dont really get much.Im not sure rain-maker know how much of a goldmine ReBoot is. I've shown it to a couple of my friends (season 1 and 2) And they said that the show had really good graphics and was completely amazing, their faces when i told them it was created in 1994 was so funny.  I think that ReBoot would do fairly well in the UK, but, the reason it was so amazing back 10 years ago was because it was fully cgi, and they were the only show with that. But now the wow factor wont be as great due to all shows being in cgi now. But i still feel that there is another generation of children in the UK who would love this show. For kids are very computer based these days, and would understand t...

There is a really old thread about the icons, but it wasn't complete.

There are a few icons that are never explained in the show, and I was wondering if anyone had explanations for them?

1st is Back-up: Back-up is the sprite from the first
system we see Matrix and AndrAIa visit. His icon is round, split down the
middle, black on the left, white the right, with a white triangle on the
left and a black triangle on the right side.

He seems to be a different kind of sprite. A little bit like Phong, all metallic and not completely humanoid. He never declares his function, so he's kind of obscure.

2nd is Phong's icon: It's like a ying yang sign, kind of. Also, what is Phong? Why is he so different looking than any other sprite?

My best friend recently procurred 4 of the DVDs that were released back in 1997 for me, for a RIDICULOUS steal... (around $6 a DVD... the person selling them had no idea what kind of treasure they had) and when I looked them up online each disk runs anywhere from $50-$100 on Amazon.

My question is this... I really want to complete my collection with the other few DVDs that were actually made. Does anyone know of a good AND TRUSTWORTHY site where I could buy/find the rest of the DVDs that were made?

I realize they are all super hard to find and rare... so I'm pretty happy with owning 4 of them. :)

Ok, so, has anyone noticed a similarity between the scene in the episode in season 3 "The Episode With No Name" and the scene in Starcraft 2 where Jim Raynor is sitting in the bar and Tychus Findlay comes in and they chat. It seems very similar to the scene between Matrix and Turbo. I wonder if this is just a coincidence or what?

Does anyone else notice a time difference between seasons 1-3 and season 4?
For instance in the first 3 seasons a second was nanosecond and a minute was a milisecond and so forth...but that seems to have changed >.>

its been 10 months since that teaser trailer. when are we going to get some updates on the progress of this movie and/or plot synopsis?

Yeah, without mouths. They've got a tail and some sort of icon on top of their foreheads. Some tattoo symbols, one on the thigh and the other on the chest. And the extra bracelets? -__- 

When I was looking up images at 1 am something ( I was tired) and I thought they could of been a new upgrade for the binomes? When I check where it was from was I was a bit disappointed. (They beat them to it?)

 If rainmaker can work on stuff like this I would of been very happy.

Alright two weeks ago I made a post on the topic of creating a Role Play based around ReBoot. I am here to announce that I have made up my mind in regards to the role play. It is strictly text based. For reasons I will explain soon.Its hosted in an (I)nternet (R)elay (C)hat server so its not going to go away less I obliterate it.

-Reasons for text based-
1. It promotes creativity
2. It don't involve any programing.
3. Much more easy to maintain
4. Its still in real tine so its not like your reloading a forum every two minutes to see if they posted yet.
5. It leaves everything to the imagination.

I have just finished watching the entire series (front to back, back to front, up, down... everything) and am a little bit confused by the ending of My Two Bob's. Is this an ending that signifies that their viral battles will never truly end? Or, are the old makers of Reboot allowing for pick-up opportunity for anyone willing to take on the project. Will fans ever know a final ''happy ending''for Bob and Dot and if they will ever fully have Mainframe protected again.

I almost feel as though I should be writing to an advice coloumnist because I am feeling so lost with this ending. Especially, because there is no definite or concrete resolution in the future.

Provide me with insight, please.

Hey everyone! I just watched Daemon Rising and I had a couple of questions. First of all, right near the end when hex is about to sacrifice herself, she did two things. She grabbed enzo's icon and infused it with some of her power allowing Welman Matrix the ability to speak and think as the sprite he once was while still in null form. However, she also grabbed martix's icon and said "Virus hater! Learn from this." While she was saying she this grabbed his icon and did...well...something to it. Do we ever find out what she did to his icon?
My other question is did we ever find out what those weird egg-looking things were? The ones that Daemon turned from green to purple when she touched them after Mike finished singing Cross Nodes. I remember that Martix and AndrAIa were chasing one of Daemon's followers and the follower jumped into an energy stream, deleting herself while the egg stayed suspended in it.

I had an idea a while ago to get hooked up on Byond or Furcadia to make our own version of Mainframe to host a ReBoot role Play Granted I don't know to much about either system or how to do Character Maps for them. But It sounds like a fun project. How ever from What I know about Role Playing .Hack (The games/Anime) It is fun to have a Continuity of something you love. I miss ReBoot its for one provided me lots of fun on the playgrounds of my elementary School years. Every day me and a few of my friends would go act out what we/I saw on the tube the day before. Its just an idea to throw out there.

Bob aside, Im wondering who we want to see more of in the movie in regards to supporting characters. I've always loved Mike- he's a love hate kind of character. Of course any episode with Al yelling in the background is always great.

My favourite character is Andraia and one thing I did notice about the comic is for me it didn't feature her enough. While Dot has always had the world on her shoulders, Hex is crazy, and Mouse is just a flirty pants... Andraia to me has always symbolized a strong female character. A real shout out to feminism! She kicks butt, Keeps Matrix in line, is wise and calm, and I really enjoyed following her from a little sprite to the woman she is now. When I think of the series I always think of her first. Growing up there weren't a lot of great female characters to look up to but even when she was a kid Andraia was one for me.

Who's your favourite character? Who do you want to see in the new movie?

I downloaded all 4 seasons and watched them...again!
and now i hate myself for it cause there's still no ending to the story...

I randomly started thinking about shows I used to watch as a kid and instantly thought of reboot and started searching the interwebs to see if any website at all had the old episodes on. the whole time I'm thinking no way since it's been almost twenty years. How come everytime I try to view the comic, it says to upgrade my adobe flash player. My adobe flash player is already upgraded to the most recent version, but it still says the same thing everytime I try to read the first comic!!! 

ok, I've been on this forum for awhile and I decided I would finally post something of my own rather than just read. I've been thinking of what could possibly be a good plot since technology and computers have changed tremendously since the 90's and I don't have it completely thought out but here's what I got so far.

The movie starts out with everything all alive and well and we settle in to see that Dot, Bob, and the gang seem to all be on a permanent vacation. Dot & Bob being married and running the diner together, Enzo running around being his normal silly self, etc. Everything's normal...or so we think.

We all know Megabyte's the main bad guy besides Hex so I'm gonna use him...Megabyte secretly returns using that thing that made him look like someone else in the last season (I forget what it's called) and makes a deal with Matrix, making him think that he's just gonna do some hunting business with small viruses and what not...but in reality he's helping Me...

Bob = AVG antivirus. Free, and often expects someone to update to the commercial version (in reference to the tools available in the Super computer), though he does just fine by himself. All threats are promptly notified and moved to the Virus vault, and it's up to the user to delete them or not.
Matrix = McAfee. Comes at a price, but isn't half bad. He deletes viruses mostly without warning, and retrieving them back is a huge pain. (Matrix can be quite stubborn)
Phong= Norton anti-virus. He's well aware about the threats, and the first to tell you about them, but he's not gonna do anything about it.

Yeah.. I know those programs weren't around so much in the nineties, but still. xD

Not Sure how many people here got to enjoys these, but I was lucky enough to be a regular at Playdium in Burnaby, BC. during their runs. I went on both of them; 1st one many times, 2nd one once, and while they may not be Cannon they were very fun!

I do. He was a great villain in the first 3 seasons, but I felt like his character should have died in the end of season 3. I didn't feel the need of bringing him back in season 4.

He should be deleted - permanently. Does anyone else want him gone?

What does that mean for ReBoot? It means that not only will it have competition but that it is imperative that the ReBoot movies are done right. The very last thing we need is for someone to come out of the movie theaters and say "That was like Tron."

Rainmaker, ReBoot is not Tron. Nor should it be turned into something like it. It is true that there are similarities, but what made ReBoot better than Tron was how it approached the idea of a world inside the computer.

With Tron you knew mainly because it looked like you were in the Computer. With Mainframe, you knew because of the lingo, their government, clothing looks, and environment.

For example bringing back Enzo was a huge example of how the computer ran. Matrix forgot to change his icon, so the system saved him as another file....

Why wasn't Lost Angles restored after the system crashed? It remained the same charred up city. I guess I was expecting Lost Angles to be restored to the Twin City.

I'd also like to know how could it exist without a Principal's Office. After the system crash, Mainframe's P.O. shouldn't have been able to save a backup file of it. But it did somehow. I never understood that.

Whether one likes it or not Enzo version 2 is here to stay. I have always been interested in this character because in a away Matrix and his relationship reflect the world of the computer. And as such I don't think  it would be bad if we see Enzo as a teen.

Matrix and Enzo have the same coding but are two different programs. When Matrix forgot to change his icon back into regular sprite mode the Computer read him as different document or program and saved him. However since there was no Enzo in Mainframe, he was restored.

This is similar to say if you if you saved one image as a jpeg and another as a tiff. They are the same picture, yet there is a difference. And lets say you had to restart the computer, both the tiff and jpeg would come back. The same goes for Matrix and Enzo. They may have the same coding but the computer reads them as two different files. So if there is another restart both come back.

How does this affect how Enzo grows up? Well for one thing...

I don't know if anyone in Rainmaker is reading this, but then again that is the point of this post.

One question I want to ask Rainmaker is this: Are you still listening to the fans?

Since the comic has ended, we haven't heard anything from you guys. The movie news  section has not been updated nor do we know where this movie stands. All we have been given is a point system and your word that you are still working on the movies.

I don't know when the movies are supposed to come out, but the fact I haven't heard anything worries me.  The only trailer we have seen is the one with a game cube dropping and that is it. We don't know what characters are in the movie, what it is about. And that is not good.

What is especially not good is the fact that Disney is releasing a sequel of Tron which is set to come out soon.

What I wonder is have you read the fans input on this site? The last thing you want is someone to say that the ReBoot movie looks and feel...

Hello everyone glad I ran across this site didn't even know it existed til now. Glad to see ReBoot has got a nice community site and that I have some new ReBoot material to read.

I've been thinking and if there's one thing this new film absolutely can't do without it's the classic binomes.

I mean, the world of Reboot is pretty much -their- world. That's definitely the feeling you get in the show. The sprites are there to help and protect them -so while sprites can look vastly different, binomes are always either three-boxes or a ball.

So kind of what I'm saying is... If they get the binomes right, I mean really right, with all their charisma and Lemminglike capacity for self-destruction, their propensity towards mass hysteria as their world starts exploding for the umpteenth time-

Well get all that right and it'll feel like Reboot, whatever else has changed.

Who would you rather be Enzo Matrix (Enzo as a kid) or Matrix (adult Enzo)?
I would rather be Matrix because he seems so much cooler than Enzo and he has the awesome eye that does everything for him.

What was your favorite Game Cube? My favorite was the game from "Wizards, Warriors, and a Word From Our Sponsor." I thought it really showcased the characters resourcefulness and teamwork. Mike the T.V. is always entertaining.

They're quirky.  They're funny.  They're two of the most memorable characters from the show, but if you had to choose one who would it be?
I personally would choose Slash cause he always made me laugh more, especially when he didn't want to push a button.
