ReBoot

I know I am writing this from a really biased viewpoint right now. I picked the winning team from day one and stuck with them. I tried to be a little fairer, but that didn't quite work either. Its no good lying to myself I could be fair when my mind was already made up. So to review, I'd figured I'd explain why I the other pitches fell short for me.

ReBoot 2.0 - Its sad to see a good plot die due to a lack of any flexibility I could see. The set design needed more defining. The character designs that were shown weren't working for me. Especially HellBob. I know there are people who have heard it before but stick a cigar in that Bob's mouth and try to tell me he does look like him. I did like the concept of Bob being trapped in a monster form. Very Beauty and The Beast like. And that leads to the next pitch.

The Last Guardian - There was no way to fix this pitch for me. They fixed the 'threesome' issue. They made Dot a stronger character. They explained why Bob was forced to abandon her. But nothing was going to make me support a story with Dot being a trophy and living what amounted to a life of Dell for 17 years (hours). And Megabyte was to Hordak as Bit was to Adora/ She-ra? It's something else I couldn't shake off.

ReBoot Regenerated - They blew up Mainframe.

The Last User - I'll be serious this time. It's a hundred years in the future and Mankind is being wiped out by a virus.  Yet somehow a computer virus named Look can save the User world. And the characters are still alive after all that time? It's hard to figure out. Especially when the characters all look like they're supposed to be hanging on the wall of an art gallery, not drawn in a comic book. You can't fix something this messy.

So its time to move on. Wow. I'd better get some more art supplies. I've got work to do.
