Movie and TV Series: Why not both?

5 Like This

I'm making this post as a reaction to the topic that the new Reboot movie (or movies depending on how many are in the end produced) and the fact that at this point they plan on well... Reboot-ing ReBoot for that matter. Mind you at the same time I'm one of those fans who still want a legit follow up to the cliff hanger that the TV series ended on.

As much love, care and work that went into the comic, and how it somewhat tied up those loose ends, I still am not satisfied and I think this can be rectified.

It's obvious a a theatrical movie shouldn't start off where the TV series left off... but why must that ending be forgotten as part of the new project underway.

I don't see why as part of this project that perhaps a set of an additional 4 episodes, or TV movie (like Daemon Rising and My Two Bobs) can't be done as well to finally tell the end of what happened in a way that does the TV series some justice. It could simultaneously serve as a way to promote ReBoot as a whole and amp people up for the new movies.

All I know is that as much as I love the world of ReBoot in any shape or form, I still feel as though some closure to the TV series would be amazing.

I think there is more than a fair chance if the movies do well that Rainmaker will be approached to continue or pick back up the TV series. I'm just hoping that if that happens, Reboot will not be...err..degraded.

I agree. If the new movie does well they could finish the series off like you said. It might also help them acquire the rights to all the episodes and release a dvd box set.

well, they were going to have the ending originally but the number of episodes they were allowed to have were cut and so it was either make a really confusing story with a crappy ending or make a pretty good story and end with a cliffhanger. That's what one of the creators said
but I think I agree with Chickydee when I say that if the movie or movies do well, they'll probably reboot the show...right now, I'm just hoping they bring back as much of the original cast of the show as possible cuz I really can't see the movie being that good without them

I hope they do both. I hope at least one of either remains true to the original series though. There's heaps of old shows out there that have earned a 'makeover' that just kills the series.

I think ReBoot can still be a success without the need to reboot the series. If that makes sense, haha.

Great Idea!!! It would be brilliant to start the project as Movie and make a special sequel as TV series. I wonder if the creators revived Reboot with the all abilities thay have.
