What did Hexadecimal do to Matrix icon in Sacrifice?

So i was re-watching some ReBoot, and this question has been bugging me :
What did Hex do to Matrix's icon in "Sacrifice" ? ( She took his icon, made it glow, and said "VIRUS HATER! Learn from this..." at him. )
I think she might've did something to make her return? ( But then how would that happen... Matrix already went into games after that event... So ReBooting it wouldn't do anything. )
What do you think she did? It'd be interesting to know other peoples' thoughts about this! :D

She took the cure from Matrix because guardian icons have virus cures. With that she was able to spread the cure faster online (her being a virus and all).

Are you sure? Wasn't Hex the cure herself? Oh, wait... she DID say something like "Give me the cure, and I'll fix everything." So maybe you're right. She didn't have the cure yet. That cure was some Guardian code, wasn't it? Matrix could cure infected people with his icon, but I think that was only possible because he was a Guardian. Would've been cool if Hex copied some of herself into Matrix's icon though, I always loved Hexadecimal... I would've yelled "YAAAY!!!" if she ever returned in some way :P

Yes. She "virused" the cure over the net to spread it faster. Like an viral anti-virus.

technically she did copy some of herself into enzo's icon haha (the reason it turned red) unfortunately it was only to allow their father guy null thing to speak and stuff

She called Matrix a virus hater but she changed Enzo's icon and said "this is so you don't end up like him" referring to Matrix. Later it was shown (in the beginning of "My Two Bobs" that all she did was imbue his icon with enough of her power to allow Nibbles to become Wellman again, which in effect would prevent Enzo from becoming like Matrix.

Someone wrote a fic where she downloaded a piece of herself into Matrix's icon.
As a result Matrix became viral. Which is interesting in itself.

^^^That would be so awesome. That would explain the episode Number 7 where Matrix reboots into Megabyte. Maybe that was a prelude to him becoming viral. Hope I can find that fanfic.

she did that to the icon so that enzo would grow up to be like / turn into welman instead of like growing up to be like matrix.

Actually, the reason Enzo grew up into Matrix was from his hatred of viruses - Hex and Megabyte, who "killed" Bob and destroyed Mainframe.
To prevent new Enzo from "ending up like Matrix," Hex gave Enzo a gift - the ability to bring back his father - so he wouldn't hate all viruses; he could see that not all viruses were pure evil.

She gave him power to bring his dad back. As another influence he can draw from, besides Bob and Matrix.
However what happens after the Hunt will be a more clear factor in what path Enzo takes.

Hex took the cure from Matrix and the viral icon was to help Enzo not become the next Matrix. With a father figure back as well as Bob (& Matrix to an extent), Enzo won't walk the path Matrix did. I also suspect she changed Enzo's code enough to prevent him being overwritten by any upgrade The User does.Thus Matrix doesn't need to stay in Game Sprite mode.
