But i'm not sure what you mean about new gaming trends. ReBoot had RPGs, a Racing game and an FPS.

I wouldn't mind either way if Games weren't in it, but it's nice to see that they are, in some form.

Hmmm, I'm not sure how I feel about the ASPs. I mean, I do think it's a good idea and it's certainly a fresh plot point. But one of the things I thought was key in the existing episodes was the interaction between the characters during the games. I loved seeing the characters' individual efforts and varying personalities put together to beat a game. If the ASPs are only sent to a single individual, the element of the heroes working together and the resulting character development is lost.

What happens if the individual "beats" Gnosis' challenge? Are they sent another one, and another until they are defeated?

There are a couple of other questions I have about the ASP concept. The ASPs seem to be a somewhat inefficient way for Gnosis to dispose of the (surely) large numbers of sprites that will stand in opposition. Is each ASP environment tailored specifically for the individual to which it is sent? And if the individual beats it, does Gnosis have to design a new one until the individual loses? If that's the case, then Gnosis must spend a lot of time designing and programming a single environment and challenge for one person.
And if Gnosis is so determined to eliminate rebellion and opposition, if Gnosis can so easily target a specific individual with each ASP, why not simply send some sort of deletion command to dispose of the opposition quickly rather than bothering to think of an environment from which the target could potentially survive and escape?

I do think the ASPs are an interesting idea, and they are certainly much more threatening to the characters than a game cube. It just seems a bit...complicated.
