I realized that I could try drawing Mainframe using tracing paper overlays but I'll have see if I can. I prefer character design. I ca'nt wait to see your new stuff.

I suggested this aspect somewhere else: Megabyte's Mainframe should have random bits of empty ground, to show that a certain amount of its files have been deleted. The streets should also be pretty deserted-symbolic of the deletions of random binomes and sprites.

I did a little something with my notion of Vector...

Hm, that's a good point, especially for people who game and speak the lingo. The User's speech should be unintelligible by both sprite and reader alike. I still believe the silent treatment works and is more powerful for deifying something.

Which i just realized is exactly what you are planning on doing anyways with "pictographic dialect", so don't mind me while i back away embarassed >.< heh.

I agree with Guardian. Since 1337 speak isn't really 'speech' and is more about a different way of spelling known words, someone speaking in 1337 would sound the same as someone speaking normaly... Making them communicate through chat bubbles is the only real work around for that i suppose lol.

Professor Wizzywig said: I just wrote this paragraph and am very happy with it.

***The Users in the Web Game are all bizarre aliens that speak a strange, pictographic dialect (|_|B3R-|33 ) which makes absolutely no sense to the heroes. This prevents the Users from communicating intelligibly with the heroes.***

The idea of l33t-speak as a User language was proposed by endian in the B-Plot post, but I'd actually considered it very early on - well before any of you even knew about this contest. endian reminded me how cool it was.

Anyway, hate to thread-jack... please continue!

I think that's a very bad idea considering you were wanting the Users to remain in character as if they are all actually role playing. It might be funny if one random character pops in and a speech bubble with "gamer speak" in it pops up. Something like "wts cloudsong." Then the RP users can call him a name and move on.
Going with that I think there would be some humor and quirkiness if the Users didn't actually talk - they had speech bubbles pop up over their heads like in many MMORPGs. :D

I finished a picture of vector, but its not exactly picture perfect at the moment, i want to redraw him with the design i made in a better pose and fix some of the stuff that was rushed through.

if you want however, i can go ahead and post up what ive got now.

lol! XD K, I'm an idiot, yes, you're right. But I like the way it works. I'm biased towards red and black, but really they're seen as Hex's colors. Hm, one could fiddle with concept art, but I think the team is so far along for me to be fiddling. Still, I'm curious to see how it would come out.

But what they really need are images of Mainframe in both states, not decrepit, more policed and controlled, and Gnosis' version would have that cool ominous spire beacon.
