I do not want anything from the origional Reboot (graphic wise)to change. Nor do I want characters from the origional ReBoot series to change or go away. I want the design to stay the same from the origional ReBoot, otherwise it will be something completely different and you might as well give the show a new name.
We all grew up with the characters and magnificent images and we want to re-connect with them again.
I want all of the characters to all be exactly the same and maybe introduce one or two new characters. I want to see how much they have grown and see their new upcoming challanges.
I think some things from the last series need to be established which werent established very well. I would like to see a little more romance in the series thsi time (when they arent fighting). I think that way you will attract different audiences and different age groups.
I have always loved the storyline between Matrix and AndrAIa and would love to see that expanded on a lot more. Maybe even see them have a child.
I have read some fantastic ReBoot fan fiction that I think would make some wonderful episodes. They are mainly on:
To back up other comments, the hair has to go, and the uniform needs to look more like, well, a uniform. This one's too organic and too superhero. It doesn't look like it belongs to a guardian, no matter how much has changed. Otherwise the face is very close, and the description of him is spot-on.
I like most of the costume designs on this one, but... Bob's old outfit actually works in line with the general direction you seem to be going in. This, well, I don't like the "covered in muscles" look.
If you guys could make his costume look more like the old guardian suit that'd be sweet...like use the colors such as dark green for the armor and the under parts use a lighter green...maybe some orange here and there
I don't like Bob's hair but other than that, he looks fantastic!!. I love these hi-res photos to really look good into the details and see if his hair was that bad lol.
I'm hoping you will PM me and respond to my critism on why I think your story is badly missing logic, so hopefully you can convince me or I can give you some feedback on Reboot Arrival's story.
Arrival is my favorite of the five pitches thus far; I'm glad that the team for Arrival has decided to keep the characters' personalities in tact as well as provide some really great artwork and designs that all still feel like Reboot (i.e., they all look like they could belong in the Reboot world of Seasons 1 through 4).
As for Bob himself, I think so far the character description is heading in the right direction - it's nice that someone is keeping Bob heroic and noble without making him some angsty and broody anti-hero, which is so unlike Bob! I would also like to see the return at least some of his dorkier side that was more prevalent in Season 1 and 2, because I kind of missed it in Season 3 and 4, but that might just be me, lol. But as long as you keep Bob the brave and quick-witted hero and not turn him into some anti-hero (which is what Matrix is for), then it should be good.
I also think Bob's character design is heading in the right direction, but could use some tweaking. I'm glad he actually looks like a sprite (or guardian, as the case may be) and like he belongs in the Reboot universe, but I think the design might be just a BIT too young and flashy for Bob. It looks like Bob, but more like a teenage version of himself, lol. I know a lot of people seem to be partial to Bob's old hair, but if you want to try something new, you can maybe just shorten the height of it a little so it doesn't seem so gravity-defying or anime-esque (not that there's anything wrong with anime; I happen to actually be a big fan!).
As for the uniform, that could maybe be toned down a bit. Maybe if it resembled his guardian uniform more, it could work, or resembled some of the outfits from the previous seasons. I'm not as big of a fan of GlitchBob, but you could also maybe make it resemble that more to make it fit better into the Reboot universe. I think, though, that you could also work with the uniform you have there now and just make it look more like there's a separation between the different articles of clothing, like with boots, a belt, etc. I don't know if I'm explaining myself very well, so if I'm not, just disregard it, lol!
Also, I'm not entirely sure if the colors of the uniform work with Bob. That being said, I really do love your use of color in general and I think that the bright colors you've picked so far would really look visually stunning when translated to CGI. I just think that maybe another color would suit Bob better. I think maybe it looks a bit too viral (maybe that's my problem with the uniform in general). The hair color and skin color are perfect, though, imo, and I don't think the uniform is really that bad either. Like I said before, it might be just a little too flashy, that's all, but I don't think I would think it was completely out-of-place if I actually saw a character wearing it in the Reboot universe.
Wow! Sorry, that was long! Bob just happens to be my favorite character (and I've been an obsessed Reboot fan forever!), so I guess I had a lot to say! Still, I really want you guys to win because, as of now, you seem to have the best grasp on the characters and your story seems plausible as long as the whole alien/user plotline is done away with (or reworked to avoid sprite/user interaction). And, at least for me, as long as the story has enough respect for the characters to have them actually stay in character, I'll be happy!
Anyway, overall, really good start! You definitely have the best Bob I've seen and the only one that actually acts and looks like Bob! I'm glad you understand his character (and realize he doesn't have to be angsty and out-of-character to be interesting!). I'm very excited to see where your concept goes from here! :)
