I'm all for Hack and Slash. They always amused me. Also Ray was always a really cool character to me, with or without Mouse. Not sure why you're not digging him. Of course don't forget Matrix and AndrAIa, but I'm sure that was a typo to omit them above. As for Enzo, feel free to let him develop a little differently. He's a kid and a copy of someone else. That's bound to cause some changes to occur. Also there's the residual data of Hex's that might still be in him. That's one character that I think should be broadened and developed. I love that you're sticking true to the series, but with Enzo it only makes sense to let him change and grow. With Megabyte, while I love, love the character, I don't think he can ever be Megabyte without Tony Jay. I've said it many times already in this and other concepts. With Tony Jay gone, Megabyte should either be laid to rest, too, or... I dunno. Mute him? I just don't want to see someone try to fill the shoes of the man that really brought most of the life to Megabyte.
Lastly, Hex. I loved Hex too. She was an endearing nut job that really became someone you truly loved and cared about by the end. When she sacrificed herself it was a very moving moment and honestly, if you bring her back it will just ruin it. Let her remain a fallen hero, please.
If you want to bring her memory back to the show, then bring in Skuzzy (little Enzo needs a pet with Frisket being with Matrix, doesn't he?). If you use the data that she left to Enzo, you can do a lot with the memory of Hex. Hell, Enzo could go viral if he's charged up enough (like Hex did). Just don't bring her back. It would be cheesy and soap-opera-ish. Please.
'I love Mouse. Not so hot on Ray, but they're a team so they're in.'
Another Mouse lover here too, and I'm also not too hot on Ray, sticking them together at the end of Season 3 always seemed a bit forced to me, like they'd gone 'hey, Mouse doesn't have a significant other... let's stick her with Ray!'
And yeah, like just about everyone else, it's great to see that you're keeping the original cast. One question though: where are Matrix and AndrAIa?
I like how you guys are keeping all of the old characters, but I think you should avoid bringing Hex back, I think it's probably best to just leave her dead to give more importance to her sacrifice. I also didn't see Mike the TV on the list and I would love to see mike come back.
I do not want anything from the origional Reboot (graphic wise)to change. Nor do I want characters from the origional ReBoot series to change or go away. I want the design to stay the same from the origional ReBoot, otherwise it will be something completely different and you might as well give the show a new name.
We all grew up with the characters and magnificent images and we want to re-connect with them again.
I want all of the characters to all be exactly the same and maybe introduce one or two new characters. I want to see how much they have grown and see their new upcoming challanges.
I think some things from the last series need to be established which werent established very well. I would like to see a little more romance in the series thsi time (when they arent fighting). I think that way you will attract different audiences and different age groups.
I have always loved the storyline between Matrix and AndrAIa and would love to see that expanded on a lot more. Maybe even see them have a child.
I have read some fantastic ReBoot fan fiction that I think would make some wonderful episodes. They are mainly on:
It really looks like you're going in a good direction here, and taking into account the few issues already brought up (user interaction, etc.) and I have a feeling you will be able to come up with a good compromise. One more thing to add: Please please please let us know what happened with The Hunt. It doesn't have to be central to the plot or take up much time. But in the vein of keeping all the old characters and the same feel, there needs to be a good transition from the original, and that means a good conclusion before the new beginning. Thank you!
Very good and important points, Guardian Enzo. In season 3, for the short period of time he existed before we saw him grown up, Enzo proved to be a very strong character who held his own. That's the Enzo who was backed up and restored a the end of season 3, and that's the Enzo we need now.
"ENZO: He's still zooming about on his zip-pad. He joins Bob, Matrix, AndrAIa, Lens, and Ether on their clandestine escape from the Net and into Gnosis's system."
I gotta admit, this scares me a little. Ive read and written enough fanfic (you gotta keep the story going somewhow) to know trouble when I see it. Mary Sue's are trouble - big trouble. Users in Mainframe are trouble. And descriptions like that are trouble, and here's why:
Most writers, frankly, don't know how to use Enzo as a character. He's either the hyper-kinetic and annoying little whirlygig who jumps on Bob talks in run-on sentences and gets sent to his room when the plot starts to move, or he's absent altogether outside the occasional toss-off reference by Matrix or someone else. Yuck. And when I read your description, I see the former - it reads like it was written by someone who doesn't really know how to use him in the plot.
Enzo is lazarus - he's come back from the dead. He's a copy, living in a world where he doesn't really belong with an original who apparently doesn't even like him. Enzo may be a kid, but he's clever - he knows things are pretty effed up in his life and the interest is in his general positive character crashing into that reality.
I *beg* you, Guys - don't take him on as a comic-relief accesory living in a bubble where S3 never happened. Give me a chance to try and impress his hero and his sister/protector and screw up, then get it right. Explore the obviously complex relationship with Matrix. ReBoot at its very core is Bob, Dot and Enzo - they're the heart of the show and that fact should be honored in any "reimagining" of the concept, IMHO. I see the potential in your treatment - I just hope and pray you feel the same way, because it's not clear that you do. Good luck, and thanks for playing!
Although my favorite character isn't Hexadecimal, I really like her character progression - up to her sacrifice in "Sacrifice". However, I am kinda against bringing back Hex just for the sake of appeasing the fans... at least in her complete form. Her sacrifice would've had less significance. It's not that I don't like Hex, but I just think that going so far as to reviving dead characters from *any* series is going a bit too far.
If Hex was to be brought back, I say bring her back the way that Megatron brought Dinobot back in "Beast Wars". If a *part* of Hex's code was in Wellman's null form, a part of Hex only equals a part of Hex!

To me you seem the only team that actually gets the characters, and for that I'm very happy. I like the angles.
But where are Matrix and AndrAIa in your descriptions? I can't do without them...
