WOW SO AWESOME.. I LOVE LOVE the redesign.. it keeps the old style of how clean and good looking the show was yet brings it into the future.
I have ideas on how to combine this art style with Reboot 2.0's story of a new OS upgrade. Awesome artwork.
Also Proffessor Whizzy, I was never able to read your response to my criticsm and I would be most thankful if you could PM with your response to what I said. If you don't remember I can PM you my bothering's on why I think your story is not logical.
Again, I'm really glad that Dot actually looks like a sprite and resembles herself fairly well! More importantly, I'm glad you didn't take her strong personality and devolve her into some damsel-in-distress as other concepts have.
To begin, I'm glad that Dot has maintained her status as Command.com and seems like she will also maintain her strong personality by working with the resistance. I think, though, that while she might be forced to be a slave master, I just hope she isn't wallowing in defeat until Mouse, Phong, and Ray show up. As Dot's always been a leader and a planner, I hope she has taken some initiative on her own to start some sort of a resistance before joining up with them or at least goes looking for them. I also would like to see her take a leadership position within the resistance, as well. I'm also a bit wary of the Bob and Dot thing; I do support their relationship, but I'm just worried it might become too soap-operaish like with Season 4. As long as Dot doesn't become all weepy and melodramatic, though, the whole Bob/Dot thing could work very well.
As for her character design, the hair color and skin color are again perfect. I'm not entirely the hair style suits Dot, though. I do think it's a really pretty design, and it would be nice to see the long hair in CGI especially with how technology has advanced, but I don't know if it really fits Dot. As some have mentioned, it might look to superhero-ish or Wonderwoman-ish (and I do love my DC comics, lol!), but it might be too stylish for Dot. Perhaps shortening it a little bit could work, although it's not terribly long; maybe if it didn't have so much volume and was less glamorous or swooped up it could work. Maybe give it a more working-woman feel rather than a supermodel or superhero feel...
As for the attire, as I said with Bob, it's too flashy, I think. I think this is more of a problem with Dot as Bob could get away with flashy, but Dot's a no-nonsense woman and a bit of a stickler, lol. She also looks a bit more viral (I think the colors are reminding me of Daemon, lol), and, although I really do love the bright colors, they might be too bright for someone like Dot. Maybe if her top was that color (or some other bright color, because the colors really are gorgeous) and her pants were a neutral color, like black, that could work. Also, her outfit should maybe be a bit more conservative; maybe a more modernized business look? Still, all-in-all, she still looks like a sprite and she does look like she belongs in the Matrix family. And, maybe if the outfit was changed to something that resembles her attire in the original Reboot series and added some glasses, then maybe you could get away with the hair (which, I will admit, is very pretty and much prettier than her old hair).
Anyway, I think your ideas and concepts are really good starting points and I think that they could develop into something really great! I think you've got a good handle on Dot's character and position within the Reboot universe, especially with her playing a part in the resistance (it would especially be interesting to see her secretly taking part in the initiative while still being forced to work as a slave master - it would be totally awesome to see her spy on the enemy and be an informant for the resistance while pretending to only be some helpless pawn working for Gnosis). Her design, with a little tweaking, looks promising as well! Look forward to see how your ideas develop!
I honestly see nothing of Dot in this. Yes, she's hot, but do we need to trade in Dot just to recast her in such a light?
Dot was above hot. Dot was a strong woman who had no time for being hot. And THAT's what made her attractive. This girl you've presented has an incredible body, great hair, etc. and would be a wonderful character... who isn't Dot.
Cut the hair much shorter (maybe split the difference?), and accentuate her body a little less and you're closer.
As for the face, well, obviously she underwent an extreme makeover, because the only way I know it's Dot is because you told me. Bring back some of her facial structure so I can actually recognize her, please.
I've shown this before on the Java Hut, but in case some of you do not visit there I will post it here. It is Dot redone as AndrAIa and I think it works much better.
I do not want anything from the origional Reboot (graphic wise)to change. Nor do I want characters from the origional ReBoot series to change or go away. I want the design to stay the same from the origional ReBoot, otherwise it will be something completely different and you might as well give the show a new name.
We all grew up with the characters and magnificent images and we want to re-connect with them again.
I want all of the characters to all be exactly the same and maybe introduce one or two new characters. I want to see how much they have grown and see their new upcoming challanges.
I think some things from the last series need to be established which werent established very well. I would like to see a little more romance in the series thsi time (when they arent fighting). I think that way you will attract different audiences and different age groups.
I have always loved the storyline between Matrix and AndrAIa and would love to see that expanded on a lot more. Maybe even see them have a child.
I have read some fantastic ReBoot fan fiction that I think would make some wonderful episodes. They are mainly on:
Well, I'm late to the game, and perhaps this will be obviated by later posts... but this is a superhero-ey look for Dot that I can't get behind. Her original outfit went with her mentality - sensible, utilitarian. This is more... superheroine/fanservice. It doesn't seem comfortable, nor is it in line with the original series... so it strikes on both character and milieu, for me.

It's alot more sexy and grown up, what Rating are you aiming for?.. G, PG, R?..
I'd hope you guys don't straddle the line and just go for a Mature Reboot since many times the show has been censored in the past.

I'd add some black to her outfit, the purple just adding some color.
Good question about the rating! I'd like to know too.
