All I know is that a nano equals a minute. They kept using the term "cycle" to mean "hour" and other times something entirely different (see When Games Collide ep), and I always assumed a minute equaled a User month, and an hour a User year. Don't ask me how that works, but ReBoot somehow got it to fly over our heads even while we were scratching them.
If you could do a clarification and graph it out using this info, show us what -you- think the time conversion should be, and people will offer their opinions as always. More known fanfiction writers had a graph that became the norm, but make up something that works and put it on the drawing board.
Also, no one could really figure out that game-time acceleration thing in the original series, as to Users, time goes by fast enough in a computer as it is without a game speeding up time even more. It was a convenient plot device we simply ignored in our giddiness to have it simply work. Suspension of disbelief didn't die with the eighties. ;)
Oh, and Megabyte being killed by Gnosis right off. Nah. I really like the idea of him trying to interact with everything. One of the best things about Web World Wars was just that. And then there's a Codemaster teaming up with the Mainframers. I could see that messing with Megabyte, who has an obvious fear of them.
You can tell which character I'm biased towards, but I think it would be an interesting side dish for fans of both Lens and the viruses in general.
As far as I understood, the only definites with ReBoot time was that nano = minute and second = day. I *think* that an hour equalled a year, a minute was a week and a cycle was a month, but I could be getting minute and cycle confused, and also I might have picked those ones up from fanfiction.
all I remember about how time converts is that a second is a very long amount of time. It's also nice to know you plan to keep the general feel of the original show. You guys are definetly my first choice to do the show.
Time in Reboot terms doesn't work and is a mess. I've long since given up trying to work with it and just try to avoid it when possible.
I'd like to hear what you're planning on doing with Megabyte. As Tony Jay is gone *mourns* I would like to see him with as few lines as possible. Mute him some way or something, but please don't try to replace Tony Jay. He *was* Megabyte, and though I loved that villian, I think he should be brought to an end now that the man that breathed so much life into him is gone.
You can't shut up Megabyte. That's what made him cool. That he was so suave and sophisticated. I understand your reasoning however. Maybe a damaged voice processor would work. Otherwise I don't know what you could do to quiet him and have it work.
on the time question one second of earth time is equal to one "day" in mainframe. Take the episode where Dot almost marries megabyte. She says to her nullified father "this is the happiest second of my life" as she walks down the aisle to bob (megabyte in disguise). This looks to be the most promising remake of reboot if it done right. Keep up the good work.

As long you don't gloss over the Megaframe cliffhanger. It's very important that that get resolved.
I hadn't realized Tony Jay had passed on. For that reason I would prefer Megabyte not be preserved. Megabyte can't be himself without him.
