Hey, what can I say? I insisted on the Corinthian leather bookmark!
Okay really, I have no idea. I don't even know how long it will be, of it will be a series or a graphic novel. No idea at all. Hopefully it'll be up to me. I'd like a 3-volume graphic novel with about 50-75 pages each.
WhizzyWig: Thanks for letting me know; I had a feeling you were using it as a bit of sensationalism, but I feel if you want to get your point across to all the fans, you should probably say things the way you really mean them. So, I was just making sure. ;D
Astragem: Maybe sadistic was an over-the-top word. But that's what you do when you're trying to get people's attention with a pitch. Obviously, REAL sadism has no place in ReBoot. I'll reword.
I officially began a V3 package tonight. Changing "sadistic" to psychotic was my first revision.
~Upon activation, Megabyte and Phong accidentally join with GNOSIS~
Say what? Huh? How would this ever happen? It's an interesting idea, both the ultimate force of evil and the guiding light of good being incorporated into GNOSIS, but why would it ever happen?
~When Enzo is captured and turned into a particularly sadistic Avatar~
Err, sadism... I'd prefer Enzo the Idealist. ;) But what place does sadism really have in your pitch? Just seems like it doesn't fit. If Enzo the Avatar was harsh, cruel, and uncaring, that would sit better with me than outright sadistic tendencies.
So, in other words, this pitch is mostly directed towards the old fans who have a basic (if not complete) idea of what's going on? In that case I'm all for it. I'm kind of liking the Enzo/Avatar subplot too. It can provide good source for a dramatic element if used properly. I'm somewhat reminded of a vague memory of how Rinox (forgive my spelling) in Beasties was salvaged and converted to a bad guy. Because I loved Rinox, and to see that after a mysterious leave of absence he had been found, but only to fade away again as a villain... it made me sad, in a good way. The only thing about Enzo, I'd like to ultimately see him return to his good old cheerful Bob-glompin' self. Because he's not Matrix, he deserves to go back to his innocence as a sort of chaos-reliever point. At the very, very end.
Briefly, allow the Phong fangirl in me to cry in the loss of Phong... *Cries* Ok, I'm done. Good idea combining both Phong and Megabyte with GNOSIS though. Megabyte has the evil code to drive GNOSIS over the edge, and Phong has the vast knowledge to back it up and make him very formidable. I'm liking the direction here.
Now allow me to catch myself up with all the other updates.
And that's the point of this whole exericse, its just going to be a comic book, not the beginning of a new saga or the changing of the ReBoot universe. Its a comic book for fans to buy - and the more fans that buy the comic book, the greater the chance that investors will come along and invest in the rebirth of the series and we get to see our beloved characters again on the small screen.
To be honest, I'm more focused on what's down the track and what Rainmaker has in mind should they get the funding. Which pitch wins is not the be-all and end-all for me. If it ends up that not enough fans support it, I'll be disappointed because it'll seem like we didn't even try to support this initial step by Rainmaker.
Holy cow, you guys are hilarious. And outspoken. :)
Remember this: The winner of this pitch gets to make a comic book - that's it. Nothing else has beenpromised. Who will buy a ReBoot comic book? Old fans, and some that remember the old show but didn't watch every episode.
Obviously, if we were to be making a TV show, we'd probably head off in a much more generic direction, so that new fans could get into it fast. This is a comic book pitch - please keep that in mind when making your decision.
Overall, I really like the improvements for Arrival! I don't have much time now, so I'll go into more detail later, but I think Arrival is on the right track and I'm excited to hear more, especially what's going on with the other characters (glad you added some more info about Enzo, but I now I'm nervous for him, lol; I just hope he ends up okay in the end!). Anyway, can't wait for more updates and I'll try to have a more detailed response later, but, like I said, great job overall! :)

$75. I'm working them down to $50.

I like it. Just two points of contention:
