Here's a quick response, HexIsMyQUeen, then I'm going to bed. Post a pile of questions and I'll deal with them tomorrow.

I'm implying here that Megabyte has been Hunting the viruses AS WELL as everyone else. He's always been competitive by nature, but now he's pissed. I think his most recent behaviour supports that.

So the Codemasters swoop in and say okay, we've got this thing, and proceed to explain that GNOSIS requires code donations from Guardians and Viruses. So they bring representatives of those two groups together (meaning lots of NEW VIRUSES!!!) and get them to donate code.

They agree to work together because Megabyte has nearly deleted all of both groups - but both groups also prepare to betray each other. The Guardians only agree to do it because the Codemasters secretly agree to build a smaller GNOSIS for use in the outer systems, which will permanently protect the Net from Viruses. The Viruses agree to do it in exchange for something very odd...

They want the Users to come back. More on that later. If you're interested, check back tomorrow for a post on the B-Plot. Matrix/AndrAIa lovers will be head over heels for it. Plus, it involves a new Virus who is quickly becoming one of my new favorite characters.

On another note, be aware that I'm writing a V2 script as well, but it won;t be up until early next week.

Ever since I read this pitch, I've seen Gnosis as having a god complex, wanting to be like the User. Is this still the case? Or does he just want to be as powerful as the User?

Also, I forgot to mention the tagline sounds a lot like Daemon's function.

Sure, but Daemon wanted unity for the Net. GNOSIS has no interest in the Net. He wants to become the User. Whether that is possible or not is a part of the story. I wrote this in my notes:

GNOSIS wishes to become the User. The heroes discover this and initially dismiss it as insanity. Eventually, as its research on The Codex draws to a close, GNOSIS begins to exhibit miraculous powers, leaving the heroes to question their understanding of the Net... and worlds beyond.

Vague, I know, but I can't give up all my secrets. The important thing is whether you're intrigued or not, and whether I've blatantly broken any world rules or not. Pretty sure I haven't.

The proposed name for the new virus is "Vector." Sorry, I know that doesn't give you an idea on gender.

More tomorrow. Bed now. 1 AM.

Like Eagerartist I hope Gnosis still keeps its god complex.

I'm not quite sold yet. So here's my question, it seems Megabyte has infected the net, but not the supercomputer. How did he do that, he never had the power to escape Mainframe before.

I read over all the new stuff, and I can honestly say I am probably in the complete minority here as I don't like it. I'm sorry.

People keep calling Last Guardian "Bad Fanfiction" which I agree, but think is easy to fix. This how ever feels like GOOD Fanfiction, and is much hard to fix, becuase it involves toning it down by alot.

I know that my opinion isn't going to matter much or be listened too, but I think in the grand scheme of things, that is Arrvial Wins, Reboot Loses. Before I get tarred and feathered by the fanboys, let me explain.

This contest is about two things: Reinventing Reboot and Keeping the fans happy. This seems to ONLY do the latter. It feels like it is trying way to damn hard to be Reboot just to please the uber fanboys and win. But in the grand scheme of things, thats not going to matter one bit if Rainmist wants to appeal to NEW people, people who remember little or Reboot, if anything at all.

Everything I've read is cool, is epic, and pretty awesome... from a fan's point of veiw. But being the objective and open minded person that I try to be when asked to look over ideas, I can't see where you expect new fans to be able to jump in and not be completly lost and lose intrest, becuase they need to know alot of backstory.

    Look at the other Pitches:

Lasat Guardian: Like her or hate her, we have Bit. Her true primary function is to learn. She is the Avatar of the general audience. She will basicly know as much as they do from the sound of things, and as she learns they learn.

2.0: Uses the Backstory as a springboard, but doesn't rely on it. Everything starts over more or less. Fans know the characters, but its not a quagmire of info that everyone needs to know and can be established easily.

Regenerated: The most ideal of the Pitches in all honesty. Like 2.0 it uses Reboot's backstory as spring board, but the primary cast is all new, and with the Version 2, it looks like old characters might end up being Secondary characters or even villians. Everyone, fans and general audience start out even. No one fully knowing what to expect.

Last User: Seems to be the EXACT oppisite of Arrival. Arrival is goign to the extreme in trying to keep with everything and it feels like it will go over the heads of most the general audience. Last User, tries to get as far away from established cannon, and dresses up characters as Reboot guys. Stripped down, it is an awesome Matrix trilogy type story that could be insanely popular with the General audience, if it had a more serious art style. But Fans are more then likly going to resent it completely if it was chosen over any of the other 4 which feel more like Reboot.

I dont know if LG, 2.0, or LU have updated since I last checked, but this is my current feelings based on their V1s.

Anyways, feel free to blast me now for disliking
    "the best idea ever".
