All Original Characters are in ARRIVAL

I said I'd post a list of where all the old characters fit in to this present iteration of ReBoot: Arrival. I'll just do everyone instead (but I'll leave out Lens, Ether, and the Avatars):

BOB: Still the heroic good guy - programmed to Mend & Defend. He tries to save everyone from the evil Gnosis. No real antihero stuff. I like him as he is.

DOT: Dot gets abducted by Gnosis's Avatars and is forced to be a slavemaster for a while. Don't worry though - she'll get out of there soon (I imagine that's just the beginning of the new story).

ENZO: He's still zooming about on his zip-pad. He joins Bob, Matrix, AndrAIa, Lens, and Ether on their clandestine escape from the Net and into Gnosis's system.

PHONG: Totally one of my favourite characters. Could never get rid of him. When he's ousted from the core, he and Ray and Mouse set up a resistance in the deepest levels of Mainframe. Bob and the gang hook up with him and finally, using Dot's brilliant tactics (of course) manage to free Mainframe. I'd always imagined that would be the end of the first movie.

RAY & MOUSE: I love Mouse. Not so hot on Ray, but they're a team so they're in. As above, they help Phong with the resistance.

WELLMAN: Always thought he got the shaft in the original series. In my story, Wellman will renew his studies and become the real scientist on the team. I'd like to see him become the real expert on User-lore. Also, see below for Wellman.

CECIL: Okay, now we're digging deep. In Arrival, all the old locations exist - including Dot's Diner. But now, the Avatars have converted the diner into a tavern and fighting-hall. Cecil hates this of course, but cannot leave - so he's stuck serving them.

MEGABYTE: Megabyte manages to be uploaded into the new system by virtue of his new trojan powers, which tricked the upload program into believing he was a binomial. Megabyte will play a role in the stories of this new ReBoot world, don't you worry.

HEXADECIMAL: The heroes believe Hexadecimal destroyed herself to rid the Net of Daemon. In truth, some of Hex's code survived in the Nulls that comprised Wellman – coincidentally, one of the Nulls the Codemasters captured and placed inside the NullFire’s habitat...

HACK & SLASH: Oh yeah – they’re still around (they’re also my favourite characters). They still diligently serve Dot as bodyguards and assistants, and will probably continue to do so well into the new ReBoot if I have anything to say about it. I can't wait to write some of their new lines.

Okay, so there's other characters, but I think you can see how they all can be implemented into this concept.

I actually assumed most of the original players would be there. I think right now, everyone is just trying to sort everything out and at least figure out all the rules. We'll get settled in and things will go more smoothly.

Really great! I also like that you even added Cecil! That could be really funny with him stuck working in some tavern, lol! I also LOVE that you're in support of the original hero, good-doer Bob as opposed to changing him into some anti-hero character - that's what Matrix is for, after all!

Speaking of, could you maybe add Matrix and AndrAIa to the list??? I know you mentioned them briefly in the character description for Bob, but I'd also like to see a couple sentences about them, too, if you can! :)

Anyway, I'm really excited about seeing how Arrival develops! It seems like you really know about Reboot and all its wonderful characters! :)

"Dot gets abducted by Gnosis's Avatars and is forced to be a slavemaster for a while. Don't worry though - she'll get out of there soon (I imagine that's just the beginning of the new story)."

why have it happen at all then?

Also, who are you trying to kid? Did you even hear about reboot before a few months ago? Hack and Slash are "also your favorite characters"? I know it's a kids show, and all of us are 20-somethings obsessed with a kids show, but we're not idiots. Maybe I'm oversensitive, but you sound like you think of this a lot more as a job than a chance to revive these characters.

Look, don't be so surface with these guys. go a little under the surface about what really motivates them. Bob wants to save people from evil, i get it, but what about his altruistic 'forgive the viruses' side? There's more to him than saving the day... there's a compassion in him that extends beyond just his friends. He doesn't operate in the black/white good/evil universe. He's actually got a little depth.

I can't see Dot being forced to do anything, but that's just me. I get why you assigned her that role, though. All 3 stories that incorporated Dot decided it was time for her to be a submissive, weak-willed character. Is it because she's female?

Did you see Joss Wheden's 'Serenity' too? That's what I think of when I read your bit about Hex. Maybe that'll be cool... so long as cool stuff happens to her in the net as well.
and jeeze, Hack & Slash? Maybe I was ten, but I wasn't retarded. they never did much for me.

Ok, so, that's my rant. Thank you for reading, and I'm sorry for being such a soggy-pants. I do appreciate that you've done so much work trying to walk the line between appealing to new audiences and appeasing the old and that you've obviously thought long and hard about so much of this universe. My feeling: I (and many other fans) will never be satisfied, not even if THE HUNT is made into a 3-part movie spectacular. As I'm sure you've heard a hundred times )or told yourselves or whatever) diehard fans are relentless, and by now reboot has been festering in our brains for YEARS throughout our twisted adolescent existences and we're going to give you lots of grief for not making us feel as happy as ReBoot did when we were 10. and 11 and 12 and again at 20 and 21. Good luck though, I hope you brought your thick skin.

Mike the tv, hack/slash aren't needed in any of the Reboot 'revivals'.

I don't perticularly like your story as well. I mean alien technology 'abducts the user and his realm, Earth'. Makes no sense, please rethink and rewrite.

I like that you are sticking with the characters but needs a new premise.

I also love the art for the characters. Really awesome.

I like what I see so far. Add Matrix and AndrAIa, and I wonder what Wellman's real potentials are. Just make sure that he stays a null-bot!

Not too bad, allthough it is indeed important to remember Bob's compasion for the virus too. (which sets him apart from Matrix's kinda of hero).

I have no problem with "alien technology" and conflicts on earth as such.
But I dont like the idea of user/sprite interaction.
Both the real world and the world of reboot are linked...and can effect eachother in important ways....but they should always remain completely unware of eachother.
    A mystery to both sides.
Reboot, like Tron, paints the user as almost a religious figure. A deity.
We shouldnt take away from that.

Oh, and the real world should never be shown.
Ever. (even if Augmented Reality tech IRL would make this possible).

No more then purhapes a "YES" on a blinking computer screen, should ever be seen ;)
