Yo. Professor WhizzyWig here, writer of Arrival. We recently hosted an "ask the writer" thread on a very respectable outside forum.
Here's some questions from the fans, and my answers. If you have Arrival questions, make a blog post and put "ARRIVAL" in the title so I can see it amongst the other posts.

Okay, absolutely I want to keep the original tone of the show. I love the slightly goofy humour and, to be honest, I thinkI'm a good match for it. Maybe I should post some things I've written previously - stuff I spent weeks perfecting. I wrote that script in one shot.
I'm not just blowing smoke here, I swear. The tone must stay the same.
Oh, and yes - the spoofs. Sometimes I found the spoofs a little ridiculous (AUSTIN POWERS) but overall I've always thought of ReBoot as the Xanth of the cyber-fantasy genre: lots of puns and campy cracks. I can do campy cracks.

Alright, here's my reasoning - he's Bob's mentor and superior. For Bob to become the true hero of the Net (which he must someday) someone's gotta bump off Turbo. It'll be a sad moment in the ReBoot storyline but I believe it must happen if Bob is ever to grasp the mantle of Net's Greatest Hero. And that's want we all want to see, right?
Plus, it might give Bob the motivation he needs to actually delete something. Could be a good arcing point for Bob.

Yes, I think it's vital to show the deletion of Bob's mentor for his character development to be effective. That said, this pitch concept is changing by the hour, so who knows...

Oh yeah, he'll be there. I've decided not to throw out any of the main or supporting characters. I imagine most of the "additional" characters such as Captain Capacitor, the X-Files joke, Princess Bula, etc, will have to fall by then wayside to allow for new characters. That said, I really liked old Capacitor... I'll miss him, but the Saucy Mare is gone for good, so I think his time is over. Rest in Peace, Captain my Captain.
Frisket will definitely pee on the NullFire.

Tricky question, especially because no one can definitively figure out how time converts into ReBoot time.
Actually, I think there will need to be some time in between. Moving forward to a time where things have calmed down will allow a new audience to get comfortable. Right now I'm liking the idea of Gnosis's "arrival" occurring during the Hunt, though at a time when Megabreath has very nearly killed all the guardians and brought the Net to its knees.

Is "Arrival" the actual title of the upcoming movie, or is it just an idea?
Arrival is our working title. We like it, but expect it to change. Here's a list of what we were considering calling it:
1. ReBoot 5.0
2. Paradigm Shift: ReBoot 5.0
3. ReBoot Paradigm
4. ReBoot Exile
5. The User Wars: ReBoot 5.0 (There have been 2 wars in ReBoot: the Web Wars and the Viral Wars. This might be the natural next step since Gnosis - who has some User-like powers - is fighting the original Earth-bound User.)
7. ReBoot Resistance
8. ReBoot UpRising
9. ReBoot V2
10. ReBoot ReInstalled
11. ReBoot UpLoaded
12. ReBoot Ripped (This one was my favourite. Our heroes are much more muscly, the setting more dramatic, and the adventure more explosive than ever before. (i.e., "Our new ReBoot is totally ripped!))
Like I said, keep the questions coming. Be aware that ReBoot: Arrival V2 is coming this week (I think) so many things have changed from what you can read right now on the launcher. -PWW

Frisket:
Heh, good. People were worried about him and Scuzzy after their disappearance, though Scuzzy's was because of a scene cut. Frisket we don't see after Megabyte gets his code.
Megabyte's Reign:
Wow, he actually succeeds? I always thought he was viewed as a somewhat primitive virus compared to examples like Daemon. Guess the Trojan Horse change was that huge of a help. It's cool though. I'm not a fan of time slips though, but I'm exceedingly curious of how this'd be pulled off.
Bob and Dot:
Here's hoping the time slip affords them time to unwind the ball of string that is what Megabyte left their relationship as, to his delight. Bob needs to grow back his old spine and spirit, and Dot needs to stop blaming herself for choosing the wrong guy.
Arrival working title: The "ReBoot has Arrived!" slogan is great though, so I'd suggest keeping that winner.
Any hints about the details, or are you squirreling away the surprises for the comic?

Bob and Dot... I really love their relationship and was very glad that they kissed at the end. A part of me wants to actually see them get back together. Sappy may not work for the Matrix/AndrAIa pairing, but it would totally suit Bob/Dot.
Having Dot chase after Bob would be totally wonderful.

Hmmm. I like the title 'ReBoot 5.0', personally, although depending on how things go with the story something else would be more poignant.
I actually don't like the 'Ripped' title. It reminds me of ripping music and therefore might come off as having a negative connotation (They just ripped off classic ReBoot! Look how blatantly they admit it!). It really does depend on what definition most people think of on first glance. I wonder what other people thought of first (before they read your explanation)?

Well, I saw that title and thought "So all the characters are really buff and out to kick some ascii?" XD But yes, your interpretation makes a good point. A little paranoid, but fans can get extremely carried away, so like with Enzo thinking of Trojan Horses, a little paranoia is a good thing.

I would stay away from using the User Wars title, the User is supposed to be something outside the world, and that title kind of links the story too closely with the user. I think from the list Arrival is my favorite so far.
