EXT. STARTING GROUNDS - DUSK
A recently-rebooted Matrix, AndrAIa and Ether stand silently in a wilderness setting, as they each go over the details of their new forms (as well as their newly-gained usernames). Matrix (now resembling a futuristic soldier) fiddles with Gun, as the two girls notice their surprisingly form-fitting outfits.
A flock of strangely out-of-place tropical birds fly overhead, as the colorless moon begins to rise over the barren area. Numerous other characters run rampantly around, gesturing to each other in various ways.
ETHER
(sighs)
I do NOT approve of this…
Ether, clearly disappointed with her ‘splinter cell’ appearance, puts a hand on her hip, awaiting the others to speak. She then pulls out her Pike, which, upon testing, gives no response.
ETHER
(frustrated grunt)
My weapon does not even function here!
She then retracts it, placing it at her waist.
ANDRAIA
We didn’t have any choice – the game wouldn’t acknowledge our existence if we didn’t Reboot.
(beat)
Besides, at least you HAVE your weapon… All of MY weapons are gone!
She then motions both her hands and herself around, to show Ether that her trident, starfish, and even retractable nails were gone in this form.
ANDRAIA
(cringing)
And these gloves are killing me!
Matrix, now distracted from Gun, can only focus on AndrAIa’s ‘space princess’ attire.
MATRIX
You look fine to me…
ANDRAIA
(pointing to her face, arching an eyebrow)
Eyes up here, Sparky…
ETHER
(looking around at the other players)
Now, who ARE these fools…?
Various players are running around, silently waving to each other, making laughing gestures, and some even dancing.
ANDRAIA
I… THINK they’re the Users…
MATRIX
(eyes widen, taken aback)
ALL of them!?
An excited User dashes over to the group, stopping abruptly before them. The name “BrIkK” floats above his head in glowing font. When he speaks, a text box pops up over him.
BRIKK
hey u gotz mike?
ETHER
(reading the text aloud)
“Hey you gots Mike?”???
MATRIX
Mike???
ANDRAIA
Umm, no, Mike isn’t with us right now…
BRIKK
lol n00bz
MATRIX
(reading silently)
What in the Net is this guy saying?
ETHER
I believe he’s insulting us.
MATRIX
Oh, is that right…?
Matrix then points Gun at BrIkK, firing a tiny shot. BrIkK gets knocked backwards slightly, and an angry smiley pops up over his head.
MATRIX
(surprised at his weapon’s lack of strength)
Gun?!
BRIKK
WTF N00B IMA TELL ADMIN
The User then runs off, a few other ones silently pointing and laughing at him as he goes, posting ‘n00b’.
VECTOR(off-screen)
You really must be gentler with his type, friends…
The three then turn to see Vector, standing gallantly behind them.
ANDRAIA
Who are you?
VECTOR
(bows)
My name is Vector. I am glad to see to finally meet ones more like myself.
Vector glances around him, at the various Users in the area.
VECTOR
Please excuse them, m’lady; most of the inhabitants of this area lack the ability to verbalize like we do.
ANDRAIA
I see…
Ether then nudges Matrix’s arm, grabbing his attention.
ETHER
Guardian… This one does not have a username…

Ha. That's super. I like how you maintained the user-rebooter communication barrier. So long as it stays maintained, I'll be happy to see this scenario in the pitch.

That's more the kind of thing Dot would say. lol I mean, would AndrAIa really mind if Matrix was looking at her outfit? Unless he was fixing her breasts like a pervert, but he wasn't, right? :-p
I think that the game would acknowledge their existence even if they didn't reboot. Remember the 'dinosaur' shooting at Megabyte in When Games Collide? Otherwise, they would just have to not reboot to make sure that they do not get killed.
The 'dialogues' with the users are hilarious!

About the game acknowledging them... This is supposed to be an ONLINE game, where you typically have to log-in in order to play. That's basically why I wrote that in there. That, and the Usernames bit, for Vector's entrance.

Oh, you made Matrix look at AndrAIa's breasts? You, bad boy! :-p lol But I don't think it fits Matrix's character. She has been wearing nothing but a bra for two seasons, if he was the kind of guy who forgets where is the face, he would have done it before. It's weird, it seems like he all of a sudden realized that she had breasts. There are two characters we saw eyeing another: Bob looking at Dot's tail and Hex looking at Bob's ASCII. I think we should keep that stuff for them. It would be like giving a broken car to Matrix. He could have a broken car, but it's so much more appropriate for Bob.
He should look at her in a general view respectfully, which means body AND face. And if AndrAIa says 'eyes up here', she should say it just to tease him, knowing he wasn't looking at her breast.
What does n00b mean exactly? Sorry, I never played online games before...

That was pretty funny. Good formatting and action descriptions too (I have trouble with keeping those short).
Your script brings up a lot of interesting issues... Giving the Users individual names and having them speak l33t makes them seem very recognizable as humans, but not to the heroes. That's very different from the old Reboot - but the old ReBoot was only that way because the present technology level didn't let people engage with each other on computers in a recognizably human way.
This is making me wonder whether the l33t option is better or worse than simply making the Users play in-character (they are RPing) and leave it at that. At least that would allow a solid story. Hmmm...
